🦆 Wildlife of the Week: Great Crested Grebes

Spotted this stunning pair on the lakes and what a treat they are to watch!

Great Crested Grebes are proper showstoppers. Those distinctive head plumes and that elegant neck make them easy to spot, especially during their famous courtship dance where they mirror each other's movements on the water.

They're excellent divers too – they can disappear underwater for half a minute hunting fish. One moment they're there, next they've vanished completely 🐟

We're delighted to share Lodge 138 - "Bolt Hole" - part of our rental collection at Heron Lakes 🏡

This beautiful lodge offers something a bit special. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and stunning views over the Trout Lake from every room. Not just one or two - every room.

The wraparound terrace is south-west facing, which means all-day sun. Perfect for morning coffee watching the water, or evening meals as the light fades across the lake.

And the hot tub - well, it's sunken into the deck, fits four people, and you can access it from the second bedroom or via any of the three other sets of double doors throughout the lodge. No need to brave the cold for a warm soak.

Available for weekend breaks or longer stays. Ideal for families, couples, or anyone seeking genuine peace amongst nature.

This Wessex Allure Linden faces south over the fountain lake so you get the light all day, water views that change every morning, and a spot that feels like it was waiting for you specifically.

Inside, it's open-plan but not uncomfortably so. There's a separate snug for when you want a bit of quiet, walk-in wardrobes, and oak doors throughout because details matter when you're buying somewhere that should feel like home.

Outside: upgraded composite decking that won't need constant fussing, Canexcel cladding, and that lake view I mentioned - fountain included.

Was £255,000. Now £235,000.
