The people who volunteer their time across Tatton Estate make an enormous difference to our communities, landscapes and wildlife.

Last week, we brought together some of those volunteers at Ashley Cricket Club to say thank you and hear more about the work taking place throughout the year. These volunteers included Kevin Griffiths and Nick Johnson from Friends of the Heath.

From caring for Knutsford Heath and Rostherne Mere to protecting waterways, managing habitats, maintaining traffic-free routes and helping progress the Greater Bollin Trail, their contribution reaches far and wide.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all those who give their time, skills and energy to make the Estate such a special place.

The United Utilities team are here today at the Charlton Lodge Scout hut on the Moor until 7 pm.

They’re here to update you on the Moor Pool sediment removal project. Come down if you want to find out more there’s also lots of lovely free goodies for adults and children.

PART ONE 📸 We are out and about on the Estate today with our new grazier, Jack Ancell, and his pedigree Aberdeen Angus suckler herd at Rostherne Mere.

Jack and his cattle will play an important role in our plans for our Habitat Bank at Rostherne Mere. The Mere is part of a National Nature Reserve, a Ramsar site and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Carefully managed conservation grazing around the Mere will help create the biodiversity uplift needed for the Habitat Bank, supporting habitats and wildlife while continuing to produce high-quality local food.

It's an innovative approach that brings nature recovery and agriculture together.

Food, farming, live-fire cooking and a brilliant line-up of music are coming to Tatton Estate this August. 🔥

Meat Up Festival brings together farmers, producers, chefs and rural businesses for a weekend celebrating the very best of Britain’s countryside and food heritage.

Expect headline chefs and pitmasters including Levi Roots, Genevieve Taylor and Adam Purnell, live music from Craig Charles, Ben Ottewell, Mark Radcliffe and more, plus a farmers’ market, butchery demonstrations, family entertainment, a funfair, outdoor cinema and hot-air balloon experiences.
