I’m posting to recommend this book, which I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and have just returned to Lanark library. It is a re-telling of the Trojan Wars from the perspective of the women. To begin with, the host of characters seemed daunting, though they are listed at the start, helpfully. But as I got into it, the depth and alternative narratives of characters you might know as popular stereotypes, is more and more fascinating. You may know the author from her radio appearances, if you do you will see that the book has the same appeal. If you don’t, get the book from the library and be won over to the classics!
