Saturday the weather was patchy but passable so I spent the day renovating this five panel fence with the client. We first sneezed and the old wooden fence was gone. The client had sourced a composite fence kit that would fit into the existing concrete post supports.

Sadly the supports were not as true as one would have hoped so the wad a fair bit of angle grinder work trimming frame and boards to fit. A last minute change of mind added a single board to each panel for the look of it. We left the most accessible section 4 planks short and they are on order. The client will just drop these into place when they arrive and then it will be job done, except for painting the posts black to match the fence and disguise some of the lean.

A radical garden change in a day.

A little behind on my posts, this should have been posted yesterday. Back in WB to remove a cat flap and replace a door panel. The stain/varnish will need 4 (or 5) coats to achieve parity of shade. I will be adding a coat or two each time I vist the client to do other work over the summer.

popping the new dado panels into the village hall this afternoon. A few more needed to finish the job, however today's work should significantly reduce the amount of wall repairs going forward.

A fun day of parts in West Bridgford today. First things first, the client and I wrote a job list and decided what was for today, what is for tomorrow and what is for the future. Although this takes a little bit of time, it's always useful as jobs can be grouped together to save materials or time.

Today we had fixing bolt alignment ob doors and gates, dismantling three peices of furniture ready for a tip run and stripping old sealant from the kitchen sink and resealing.

Home now and preparing for tomorrow's adventure.

Spent the first half of the morning racing the rain for a new client. Their home backs onto a corner field and the bottom boarder is a sea of corn, w**ds and old decaying membrane all set in heavy clay soil. The task is to w**d the bed, separate out the old fabric and lay new super duper cover. Here is the first section done today. The other picture shows what's left to do. When it's covered and mulched it will look sharp for sure.

And a sunny Sunday afternoon revitalising these tired outdoor uplights. About half way through by close of play so back soon to tackle the remaining. They do look fresh with a scrub and spray paint.

and spent a bit of time in the sunshine completing this privacy fence and gate. The gate has been hung with space for the cat and any local hedgehogs to pass under. The client kindly kept me supplied with iced squash, just the ticket on a hot day like today. Thank you.

- back in the bathroom and repairing this chunk of wall seems to have gone well. Thanks to a bit of Zinser Peel Stop the filler held well to a powdery surface. Now to crack on with skirting and door frames for the rest of the day.
