Listed Building Consent secured this week for the repair of the slate launder at the Grade II Listed Yeolmbridge Mill. These essential conservation works have been sensitively designed to safeguard the character and heritage of the structure.

Great to work with FJF Consulting Engineers on the design solution.

A quick lunchtime walk to Brentor Church.

The Church of St. Michael de Rupe is the highest working church in England. This striking church stands 1,100 feet above sea level on an ancient volcanic cone and has panoramic views of Dartmoor, Plymouth Sound, Bodmin Moor and, on a very clear day, Exmoor.

The site origins date back to the 12th Century, but the church standing today was built in the 13th and 14th centuries. The building underwent major repairs in 2016 and is now off-grid with the benefit of solar panels.

Legend has it that the church was built here after a wealthy merchant vowed to build a church on high ground if he survived a terrible sea storm.

Just some of the beautiful features in this Grade II Listed house surveyed this week. The property, built in 1842, was listed last year following a request from The Victorian Society to rightly protect its architectural interest.

There are many historic details remaining in the house and we particularly love the worn path in the flagstone floor from the front door to the kitchen (former pantry). How many feet have passed over this area of floor over the last 183 years?
