In business, surround yourself with a team that supports you as well as push you. Its almost time for a well earned "break" from surveying, report writing, and the freshly mown greens of Yorkshires finest golf courses. We're trading in the boots, ladders, and laptops in place of nappies, sleepless nights, and an 18 year long apprenticeship to bring the next generation of My Property Surveyors. The current 11 year old apprentice doesn't like the idea of dark lofts and spider ridden basements, so she's being relieved of her surveying duties very soon.

Yellow Rose Consultants have been with me very nearly from the start. What started as a "I don't have a clue how to run a business" turned into a "we've got this". Genuinely, the best business decision I made was to partner with Jo and her team. I've arrived home today to some very thoughtful gifts from the Ladies in the office.

Happy new year everyone! We've had an incredibly successful 2025, our most successful yet! 2026 is getting off to a flying start but we still have some availability in the coming weeks!

This January we are moving to Huddersfield but will still be covering Leeds as our main area alongside the rest of Yorkshire, Saddleworth, and Oldham!

We will also be welcoming our new apprentice in April. He's yet to be born, but will be on an 18 year long apprenticeship ready to hit the ground running (unless he becomes a professional footballer - then I can retire early) 🤣.

This year we plan to expand further and take on another full time Surveyor as we expand further into the damp and mould remediation area.

Day 2 on site of damp repairs for our customer in Leeds. This property has had an injected damp proof course in the past and client was quoted £6k for a water proof spray to the gable wall 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ not once has anyone ever looked at the ground levels and the cavity.
There is already a Bitumen dpc that was covered externally by the ground levels and internally by debris and insulation.
Just looks at all the debris coming out or the cavities.
We have:
- reduced ground levels by 75mm (unable to get the full 150 due to the armoured cable being shallow cover)
- opened and cleared cavities
- replaced a cracked gulley that was starting to cause a bit of subsidence

Busy day on site today with Geobear UK & Ireland carrying out remedial works in Rotherham. Been monitoring this job for 12 months now and finally getting the correct resolution for the client. Prep work done last Saturday, clay shrinkage pumping today and crack stitching and brick repairs to come this Saturday.

A lot of hard work gone into this one and I can't thank Geobear enough for their help.

Great set of lads to recommend here. We see damaged and insecure garage doors on over 50% of properties we survey. Keep these guys in mind when replacing that door. Keep your valuables secure 🔐 🔒 🔑
