Our Story

Knight Grindrod is an entirely independent firm, formed from the merger of Wardle Grindrod Ltd and David J Knight, Chartered Building Surveyors and Valuers, both firms having extensive experience of surveying throughout the Yorkshire area. David Grindrod is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor, and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers, and has been in the practice since 1986, when he joined Peter Wardle, who had founded the firm in 1982. David Knight is a Chartered Building Surveyor and has been in practice since 1994. Knight Grindrod Ltd are Regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and are RICS Registered Valuers. The firm is also a Member of the Independent Surveyors and Valuer’s Association, and the Leeds Estate Agents, Surveyors and Valuer’s Association. Based in offices at West Park, Leeds, the firm cover the whole of the West Yorkshire area, and also more widely into parts of North, South and East Yorkshire. With a wide client base, which includes thousands of private clients, banks, local authorities, housing associations, house builders and commercial organisations, the independent status means that the firm is often recommended by solicitors, estate agents and financial advisers.
