🏡 Moved into a property with CCTV already installed?

That was the case for a customer in Pontefract. They wanted to view the cameras on their phones, but the system needed a little attention first.

Our engineers replaced a faulty power supply, unbound the Hikvision recorder from the previous owners and created a new account for the customer. We also installed an internet booster to get the CCTV back online.

Once connected, we checked that the recorder was up to date, showing the correct time and recording properly. We then showed the customer how to play back footage and save a copy to a USB stick.

We installed this system around five years ago and it’s still producing excellent picture quality. It was lovely to hear how grateful the customer was to have it all working again.

We recently installed a home CCTV system for a customer who had moved into a property in Seacroft, Leeds.

We started with a site survey to look at suitable camera positions and discuss the home’s security. After the survey, we gave the customer a summary of our recommendations and a detailed quotation.

Their broadband was not active on installation day, but that did not hold up the job. The system records to a local hard drive, and mobile viewing can be set up once the broadband is connected.

The customer was particularly pleased with the neat cabling and told us they now feel much more secure at home. We also advised them to consider upgrading the door locks, as changing locks is a sensible step when moving into a new property.

Another commercial CCTV installation completed in North Leeds, this time at Bardsey Primary Academy in Bardsey, Leeds LS17.

The academy already had an older CCTV system in place and decided it was time to upgrade to newer Hikvision equipment with improved picture quality and coverage.

The new system includes Hikvision 4MP turret cameras covering internal and external areas, connected to a 16-channel Hikvision NVR with room to expand in the future.

We also installed multiple CCTV monitors around the nursery, giving staff convenient access to the live camera views from different rooms and making it easier to see who is arriving at the entrances.

The work was completed during a bank holiday while the academy was empty, allowing us to carry out the installation safely and minimise disruption. Cabling was also carefully hidden wherever possible to keep everything looking neat and tidy.

Great to be asked back by a long-standing customer for another security installation.
We originally installed their CCTV around seven years ago, and after recently moving house they got back in touch with us to secure their new home in Colton, Leeds LS15.

This time we installed a new CCTV system together with an Ajax burglar alarm system, all finished with a neat and tidy installation.

Once everything was installed, we linked the CCTV and alarm apps to the customer’s mobile phone, giving them remote access to view their cameras and operate the alarm system while away from home.

🌾 Connecting CCTV cameras in remote farm locations

Farms often need CCTV coverage in areas that are a long way from the main building or recorder. At this farm, the customer needed a camera near the entrance gate, so we installed a NanoBeam wireless bridge.

The system uses two NanoBeam units, one at the recorder and one at the camera location to transmit the CCTV connection between them. All we need at the camera end is a suitable power supply.

Although the connection is transmitted wirelessly between the two locations, this is not a wireless CCTV camera. The camera remains part of a reliable, hard-wired CCTV system and records directly back to the main recorder.

A NanoBeam bridge can operate across distances of up to 2km, provided there is a clear line of sight between the two units.

Recent CCTV upgrade completed at The Feel Good Furniture Shop in Armley, Leeds 📹
We upgraded the site to new Hikvision IP CCTV cameras, giving the customer clearer images and improved coverage across the premises.

One of the trickier parts of the job was getting the right viewing angle over the bin area. To make this work properly, we custom-made a bracket to achieve the awkward camera position and ensure the area was covered correctly.
A tidy installation, a practical solution and another commercial CCTV system upgraded.
