As we start tidying up our gardens in preparation for spring, let's be mindful of hedgehogs who are hidden from sight! 🦔

This is the first strimmer-related injury RSPCA Stapeley Grange has seen this year, and unfortunately, it's likely not the last. Before reaching for the strimmer or mower, please check for resting hogs.

🌹 Bulb Lasagne 🌹

There’s still time to plant spring bulbs. A ‘bulb lasagne’ is a great way to keep the display going right through spring. It can be super complicated and extravagant if you want it to be or, like we have done here, a nice simple three layer.

- Prep your pots well, especially with all the rain we’re having. Ensure you have good drainage (waterlogged pots will make the bulbs rot)

- Use peat free compost

- Plant the latest flowering bulbs on the bottom layer and the earliest on the top.

- Don’t over think the layers - the clever bulbs always find a way.

We chose Alium, Tulips, lots of Daffodils, Muscari, and lots of Crocuses for some early colour.

It’s a lovely activity with little ones (my little helper and I spent a lovely rainy afternoon making ours).

👌 This may mean that some / all of the garden may not be available for shoots 👌

👍 The main house is not affected!!! 👍

🤩 We are so excited that this is taking place and will bring a whole new wealth of shoot opportunities!!! Keep your eyes peeled for updates!! 🤩
