39 ranked practice areas. Five top-tier rankings. Two newly ranked teams.

The Legal 500 2027 results are here, and Harper Macleod is now ranked across 39 specialist practice areas, seven more than in 2023.

This year’s results include a new Tier 1 ranking for our Corporate & Commercial team elsewhere in Scotland, alongside new Tier 3 rankings for Health and Investment Funds.

Our Banking & Finance, Education, Energy and Insolvency & Corporate Recovery teams have also moved up the rankings.

Overall, there are 152 recommendations for 80 Harper Macleod lawyers, reflecting the breadth of expertise and commitment to clients across the firm.

- Firm of the Year: Scotland
- Administrative and Public Law Team of the Year (UK-wide)

This means we've now been shortlisted for the Scottish firm award at every Chambers UK awards ceremony since the awards launched in 2025. Following our Scottish Firm of the Year win in February 2025.

With the Administrative and Public Law Team of the Year being a UK-wide nomination, we're the only Scottish-headquartered firm shortlisted beyond the Scotland category itself, and the only Scottish firm to receive two nominations this year.
