*PP Annual Open Day*

A quick look at my desk calendar tells me that the final countdown to PP’s annual open day has officially begun!
With only 10 sleeps left to go until we once again fling open our double, double doors – the great tidy up time of 2026 has officially begun!

Over the coming week, the PP team will be cleaning, preparing, arranging and setting up all of our special displays and stands; ready to welcome visitors on Saturday 20th June...

For further information on all things ‘PP Open Day’ do keep an eye on our social media platforms... but for now; here’s us… just getting started!

🚨*Rant Alert*🚨
Is it just me, or do others get so sad and disillusioned at the
seemingly constant use of AI to advertise mini projects, mini online groups, or to create mini related adverts? (With the latter appearing to have ended up all looking the same or very similar?)

Why aren't people using their own images and imagination any more?
Why are creative people defaulting to using AI or applying AI filters to images of their own work?

Are we (PP) the only ones who still create our own adverts ourselves... Who use our own 'un-AI-filtered' images or use real photos of our real creations to advertise our kits or products....??????

I don't mind admitting that I am at a loss over all of this...
What has this hobby become??????

As the dust finally settles after the fabulous York Dollshouse & Miniatures Fair yesterday, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time out from their shopping to come and listen to me cheerfully waffling on…

My talk was of course a blatant plug and plea for growing support for the PP magazine, but I am so thankful and appreciative of the show organisers for providing me with such a wonderful public platform on which I could share my passion for not just the magazine, but for the smaller scale world as a whole.

If you missed the show, I can also report that both my talk and the wonderful Jane Harrop’s talk were both filmed, so I imagine they will be shared online by the show organisers in due course.

Huge thanks for all the support yesterday. It was very much appreciated 🥰

*PP kits - Seconds sell off*

Minion Mo had a big spring clean in PPHQ earlier this year and she found a whole load of stashed kits.

Sadly these kits are not pristine, so we have decided to have a seconds sell off.

So, if you are heading to the York Show tomorrow you can find our box of seconds on the corner return of the PP stand.

🚨Landscape Clearance Alert!!!🚨
At the York Dollshouse & Miniatures Show tomorrow, we will be having a bit of a clear out of our landscaping materials.
Following our Pickery & Potager Workshops, we have an excess of landscaping items which Bea used on both dioramas…
Including our popular and versatile climbing plant materials, shrubbery, flower scatters and even painted 3D cabbages; you can find all types of affordable landscaping supplies in our rummage baskets on the corner return of the PP stand!

Here in PPHQ, we are busy readying ourselves for our biannual pilgrimage to York….
On the PP stand (supersized again & and in our normal ‘spot’) we will have an even larger range of NEW wallpaper sheets on offer; alongside all our usual affordable DIY materials and tools.

Plus of course we’ll also have our unrivalled range of smaller scale houses, bases & furniture kits; all complimented of course by Mo’s budget friendly range of 3D accessories too!

Hello June!
As we transition into the summer season, the month ahead is certainly shaping up to be a busy one!

Here in PPHQ, we are deep into our final preparations for the York Dolls House Show this coming Sunday. Always a VERY busy event, we will be ensuring that we have the PP van fully packed with smaller scale goodies. Of course I will also be giving yet another ‘Talk at York’ and this time I will be lifting the lid on our work behind the scenes on the PP magazine and looking at how the smaller scales will be celebrated in the coming issues (amongst other inevitable ramblings...)

If that was not enough excitement, on Saturday 20th June, we will also be flinging open our large double doors for our second annual OPEN Day here at PPHQ. Admission is FREE and visitors can not only have a look round PP’s very unique home, but we will also have both our full dolls house AND model railway stands set up for shopping and browsing...

To round June off with a bang, at the end of the month our doors will be opening AGAIN to welcome in our first class of 26 for a fun packed ‘School of Miniatures’ weekend workshop.
Phew! So as you can see, the PP team are certainly going to need their Wheatabix in the month ahead.
But for now, wishing you all a very happy first day of the month and happy mini-ing too!
