🏗️ A major Lincoln regeneration project takes its first step forward.

The redevelopment of the former A W Curtis factory at Albion Works, Long Leys Road has reached its first major milestone, with prior approval now granted for the demolition of the existing factory buildings.

At around 1 hectare (2.45 acres), this prominent site close to Lincoln city centre represents a significant brownfield regeneration opportunity.

Fytche-Taylor Planning is leading the planning and redevelopment strategy, working with the new owners to shape an exciting new future for the site.

With the first milestone achieved, our Planning & Design teams are now progressing the next stage of the project.

🏚️ Got an old building on your land? Don't write it off just yet.

Its condition today might be obvious. Its planning potential might not be.

We recently investigated the history of a dilapidated rural building dating back almost 100 years, where establishing exactly what the building was — and what it had lawfully been used for - could make a significant difference to its future.

Another hat-trick! Three planning successes. One day. Three very different projects.

It’s been a particularly good week for the team at Fytche-Taylor Planning, with three positive planning outcomes secured on the same day:

⚽ Planning permission for a new 580-seat temporary stand at Lincoln City Football Club 🇺🇦 - part of our ongoing partnership with the Club to help deliver major changes at the ProAmpac Stadium during their first season back in the Championship for 65 years.

🏢 Full planning permission for a new Estate Office for our clients at Lockwood Estates.

🏡 Certificate of Lawful Development confirming the residential status of a historic rural dwelling - an important first step towards unlocking its future potential.

Three very different projects, each requiring the right planning strategy to get them over the line.

A great result for our clients - and a pretty good day at the office for Team FT!

From an overlooked piece of land to a valuable development opportunity. 🏡

We identified the potential of this site at Spalford and devised a planning strategy to establish the principle of residential development.

Our case secured the support of the Council's planning officers, but was narrowly refused at Planning Committee.

We remained confident in the planning merits, advised our client to appeal – and the Planning Inspector agreed.

Appeal allowed. Permission in Principle secured for up to two new homes. ✅

A great example of the value of experienced planning advice: spotting the opportunity, building the right case and knowing when a refusal is worth challenging.

🚴‍♂️ The Tour of Britain comes to Lincolnshire!

Today’s stage passed right by Burton Waters, just a stone’s throw from our office here on the marina - giving us a front-row seat as the race entered its final stages.

From Burton Waters, the riders headed towards Lincoln on five laps of the iconic Lincoln Grand Prix circuit, before the finish on Newport in the city. 🏁

A fantastic sporting spectacle right on our doorstep - and a great day for Lincolnshire! 👏

Great projects start with great planning.

August has been another successful month for Fytche-Taylor Planning Ltd., with 5 planning successes across 4 local authority areas and 2 counties.

And they couldn't be much more varied:
🏡 Appeal win at Spalford – overturning the refusal of Permission in Principle for up to two new homes.
⚽ Lincoln City FC – planning permission secured for further investment in the Club's Elite Performance Centre.
🌾 Class Q near North Scarle – unlocking the potential of a redundant agricultural building for conversion to a new home.
🏠 Sturton le Steeple – another approval at a site where our involvement stretches from the original outline permission and bespoke house design through to the property's new owners.
⚜️ 26th Lincoln (Witham St Hughs) Scout Group – a focused and proportionate application securing permission for a new storage facility.

Five very different projects, but the same approach:

Progress is taking shape on two of our smaller projects - each delivering fantastic self-build homes for different clients. 🏡

Both benefited from our full architectural design and planning service, working closely with each client to turn their vision into a design that works, before successfully guiding them through the planning process.

📍 Langworth – Construction is well underway following planning permission being granted last year.

📍 Near Haddington – Planning permission was secured as a fallback to our original Class Q approval, giving our client the opportunity to build a stunning new home instead of converting the unattractive agricultural barn that previously occupied the site.

Seeing these projects come to life is what it's all about. Every self-build is different, and we enjoy helping clients create homes that are designed around the way they want to live, while making the planning process as straightforward as possible from start to finish.

Another planning success for our team! 🙌
We’re pleased to have secured full planning permission for a major extension to The Hykeham Hub, North Hykeham, on behalf of North Hykeham Town Council.

The approved scheme will deliver a new community library, café and social space, together with a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).

We were brought in after previous attempts had stalled and led the project through design, planning and extensive negotiations with Sport England and North Kesteven District Council.

A great result and an important community project that can now move forward.

Swapping showgrounds for sports halls! It’s been a busy morning at the Sir Robert Pattinson Academy Careers Fair! 👏

Amy and Ruby from our team have been speaking with students about careers in town planning and architectural design, showcasing some of our latest projects, and sharing advice on getting into the profession.
