Take a look at the 127-room house where ๐˜š๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ต๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ฏ was filmed ๐Ÿคฏ

Built around 1300, the house has undergone several transformations, including in the 1700s when it was refurbished with an ornate Baroque faรงade.

This is a great example of bringing a building's history into the present and how pop culture can also help revitalise that history.

A project in Southampton won the RIBA 2024 MacEwen Award.

Hope Street is an alternative to prison, offering a place for community sentences for non-violent offences.

This transformative project helps the women who spend time there and the justice system.

At Aries Property Group, we believe in architecture that helps people like this.

The Black-E Building in Liverpool houses tonnes of history ๐Ÿ™Œ

This building was designed, built and furnished 18 months after the first church on site was destroyed by a fire in 1840.

Plans and designs for the church were donated by the City Architect Joseph Franklin, and dons the name 'The Black-E' as a shortening of 'The Black Church'.

This name came from a description of the church in the 1960s, covered with over a hundred years of inner-city smoke and grime.

Speke Hall offers a rare glimpse into architecture dating back to the 1500s ๐Ÿ™Œ

Inside the house are unique collections spanning five decades of history, and on the grounds are two trees named Adam and Eve, said to be 500 years old.

You can even see examples of Belemnite fossils within the stone-flagged floor dating back around 150 million years.

The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is one of the older concert societies in the world ๐Ÿคฏ

Designed by architect John Cunningham in 1844, it was built to offer a permanent residence for the Liverpool Philharmonic Society, founded in 1840.

The building itself is art-deco style and has recently received modern renovation, keeping some of its original charm to pay homage to the origins of the society.

Aren't Liverpool's Three Graces just beautiful? ๐Ÿคฉ

The Royal Liver Building, built in 1911, was constructed out of reinforced concrete and houses two of the mythical Liver Birds.

Alongside this building, the Cunard Building, built in 1917, was built in an Italian palazzo style with some Greek flourishes.

Finally, the Port of Liverpool Building stands in Edwardian Baroque style.

Architecture should be forward-thinking โœ…

The Cooper Union building in New York City is a great example of this.

Built in 1859, the building was designed in the Renaissance Revival style, with studios and classrooms above stores open to the public.

The building also had an elevator shaft, although modern elevators hadn't been invented yet.

Keeping the history of a building and merging it with the present and future is the perfect way to reinvigorate it.

Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is a building of its time ๐Ÿ™Œ

Built in the 1960s, this cathedral was built to meet the needs of the city's growing Catholic population.

It contains 'Lutyens' Crypt', named after architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, who created plans for the cathedral which were unfortunately not used (besides the crypt, of course.)

Buildings like this one in Liverpool showcase the rich history of the city and the journey from then to now.

Architecture used to be an Olympic sport ๐Ÿข

Between 1912 and 1948, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) handed out medals across five creative arts categories: painting, sculp[true, literature, music, and architecture.

For the father of modern Olympics, Pierre de Coubertin, art was an essential part of the competition.

This is why we believe preserving buildings' architecture and history is essential to keeping their art alive.

What impact does AI have on architecture? ๐Ÿค”

The Architectsโ€™ Journal is running a survey to find out which AI tools and software are most popular among architects.

Bringing the past and present together is important in architecture, and embracing the use of AI is part of that.

Liverpool's Central Library and Record Office is one of the biggest libraries in the UK ๐Ÿ“š

Initially opened in 1860, the library is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site on William Brown Street.

The building holds Grade II status, with an architecture style similar to the surrounding buildings.

However, the library has recently expanded and modernised, bringing the past and present together.
