We’ve heard from quite a few guests that our beds have given them not just a good night’s sleep, but a great night’s sleep.

When we were kitting out the properties, we decided the beds, and particularly the mattresses were one area where we really wanted to get it right. And we’re pleased to say, it seems we did!

Time and again we’ve had comments and messages about just how comfy the beds are. Then yesterday, a guest messaged to ask what mattress we use because they want to buy the same one for their own home. I’m not sure feedback gets much better than that. 😊

And it’s probably worth mentioning… we loved them so much, we bought one for our own bed too! 🛌😴

𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕨𝕒𝕝𝕜𝕤… 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕨𝕒𝕝𝕜𝕤 𝕒𝕥 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕃𝕚𝕫𝕒𝕣𝕕.

If we could be rated for walks from the doorstep, we’d be giving ourselves a 10/10.

Being right out on the Lizard Peninsula means you’re spoilt for choice. Head off in either direction and you’ll find dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, open countryside and some incredible stretches of the South West Coast Path.

And when we go for a walk, we always like to plan a good pub stop along the way… somewhere cosy, with the log fire burning, something good to drink and some great food. Here’s just a few of the views you’ll get to see on the coastal path walks in and around the Lizard. ❤️

We just love September, the school holidays are over, the beaches are quieter and there’s still plenty of summer left.

The sea is at its warmest, the evenings are starting to turn golden, the coastal paths are quieter and, best of all, you can actually enjoy some of Cornwall’s most beautiful places without the summer crowds.

And if you’re bringing the dog, September is even better, as beach summer restrictions have ended.

Here at the Lizard, you’ve got the South West Coast Path, Kynance Cove, Cadgwith and Polurrian Cove all waiting to be explored.

Then come back to the village, grab a drink or something to eat and watch the sun go down over the sea on the balcony.

Food options are in plentiful supply when staying with us and we include all of them we’ve tried and tested in our guest guide book.

It’s lovely to see The Ship in Porthleven get voted as having one of the best b**r gardens in Cornwall, we’ve got to agree, as views go it’s pretty incredible and it’s also a lovely local Cornish pub that gets quite lively at the weekend.

As well as the view the pub has lots of history being the oldest surviving pub in the village, claimed to date back to 17th century. There’s talk it was built above a smugglers tunnel although, to date no landlord has been able to find one.

Do take a look at the last picture - it’s fair to say they’ve found a way to save on redecoration costs.

If you’re staying with us, we’d highly recommend a visit. The food is good and the views are impressive.

Our recent guest Spencer Hoadly captured these amazing pictures of Kynance Cove during his and his family’s stay with us. He’s very kindly said we can use them on our page.

Kynance Cove is just a 30-minute walk from our house (less if you’re a fast walker like me 😊). And yes… it really does look like this.

Kynance Cove is one of those places that you need to see.

𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕟𝕠𝕟-𝕟𝕖𝕘𝕠𝕥𝕚𝕒𝕓𝕝𝕖.

When we bought the old bungalow that once stood here, the sea view was incredible… but you barely got to see it from inside the house.

We knew that had to change.

So we designed Scilla and Sea Skapya with reverse living. The bedrooms are downstairs, and upstairs is a big open-plan living space with doors opening onto the private balcony, so the view is always there for guests to enjoy.

It’s probably the thing guests mention most in their reviews about the houses. This photo was taken by guests staying last weekend, and we loved it so much we asked if we could share it.

From today, 1 July to 31 August, many Cornwall beaches have dog restrictions between 10am and 6pm.

The good news? One of our favourite dog-friendly beaches is only 10 minutes from the house by car (or around a 1½-hour walk if you fancy stretching everyone’s legs!).

Kennack Sands (the eastern side of the beach, furthest from the car park) welcomes dogs all year round.
It’s one of those beaches you can happily spend the whole day at.

🚗 Plenty of parking
🔥 BBQs are allowed too (just make sure they’re fully extinguished and all rubbish is taken home).

Make sure you have sufficient parking time paid for at car park if you’ve driven - as we’ve been told the signal is non existent on east side of the beach so can’t extend easily via app when over there and parking fines do happen!

We’ve added a map in the photos to show exactly which part of the beach is dog friendly, and we’ll pop the Cornwall Council link in the comments so you can check restrictions on other beaches locally too.
