Crickhowell is a highly regarded small market town situated on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, offering a balance of scenic surroundings and strong day to day amenities. The town is well known for its traditional high street, independent shops, cafés and restaurants, together with a regular programme of local markets and community events.
The surrounding area provides outstanding opportunities for outdoor recreation, including walking, cycling and riding within the Brecon Beacons, as well as fishing on the River Usk. Local leisure facilities in and around Crickhowell include tennis, cricket and rugby clubs, with further sporting and cultural opportunities available in nearby towns.
Crickhowell offers a range of educational facilities including primary and secondary schools. More extensive schooling options, both state and independent, are available in Abergavenny (approximately seven miles) and Brecon (approximately 14 miles).
