Dolwen Farm

Dolwen Farm First generation family run farm in Ceredigion, West Wales Here in the county of Ceridigion, Dolwen has two holiday cottages. A 1 bed and a 2 bed.

It also has it's very own campsite. As the page name suggests this also includes our animals, most of which are really friendly and love a fuss! Both holiday cottages have their own parking and private gardens and are well equipped with the essentials. Both cottages also have their own private hot tub. A perfect way to unwind after a busy day exploring the area. The campsite is registered with The

Camping and Caravanning Club and is a Certificated Site (CS). Our campsite occupies a tranquil spot at the side of our smallholding overlooking fields and hills. It is located in a very private position with it's own entrance. The camp area is on grass, where we have 5 large mowed pitches amongst wildflower areas to make each one that bit more private. There are no electric hook ups available and is for tents and caravans. There is however, battery charging facilities available on request depending on availability. The site is fully equipped with drinking water and a sink with washing facilities. There is a flushing toilet, hot water shower and a chemical toilet disposal point. Pets are welcome on this site free of charge, complete with dog walking route.

So he's off out mowing again, I'm not sure he's considered the fact that all this ends with the hay needing to be brought home and stacked in the shed in these temperatures 🤔🥵

Do we mow, do we hold off, if we mow how much do we mow etc etc, we went round and round in circles 🤯
We eventually decided late afternoon we would just mow 2 fields, when Joel was setting up the mower he rang me to see if we should just brave it and do all 4 fields as he was there and the forecast had improved 🤣 In his haste to get mowing he forgot to pick his phone up off the mower when he set off 🤦‍♀️ I eventually found it this morning when we went to turn the hay looking a little worse for wear 🙄 We now have 4 fields down and hope the weather is kind and we can get it all in before any rain appears 🤞

Mumma pig finally decided that lastnight was the night 😍🥰 Of course she did as we planned on going to Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo today for a pre father's day treat, luckily she's a great mum so we still snuck off as everyone was doing well and we could keep an eye on the cctv. There was really no need though as they are all little bundles of joy and mum is doing a super job ❤️

We don't usually cut any grass this early but with a dry spell ahead and the equipment being sat stored for a year we decided we would do a small field at home to give everything a trial run ahead of the main event. This way we have time to sort any issues before we are under pressure. Since this is a trial run and the pressure isn't yet on we may have accidentally fallen into the pub whilst passing 🤣 The Forest Arms Brechfa
