We don't see many days like this on the loch Awe at this time of the year. Its simply stunning today.

Im sorry weve been quiet. My beautiful sister had been sick and she sadly passed away a few weeks ago. Life git a bit busy and heartbreaking. We are back now and its still business as usual.
We would like to thank all of our guests in the last month who have been incredibly kind and patient. You are all amazing.

Our calendar is blocked off for November and December but if you have a date in mind during that time just send us a message on here and we will try and accommodate you. We are also offering one night stays for the winter if you book up to 14 days before arrival.

Its 3am and my minds going overtime. You see we came back from our holiday last night and ive seen so many cool things we can do to our wee Clara to enhance your visits to her. My minds buzzing..We have bought some cool things aswell to display in the carriage. Watch this space 😃

But, why am i really awake still? Ive been looking for pictures of how our side of the track used too look and gone down a complete rabbit hole on what we can achieve over winter with the help from our friends over @ Cameron Contracting. What do you guys think. Should we restore the sidings to its former glory?

Im thinking clear all the bushes and bracken off the old platform again 🤔 make it a wee focal point like it used too be. Lose the height enhance the views?

Good Afternoon..

Its a wet one today. I thought it was about time i did a wee walk round the carriage for you and let you see how it is set up and the views etc.

(Excuse the breathing im battling a couple of ailments at the minute. )

If you have an questions just ask :) i have had to split it up into to two videos becasue facebook doesnt like anything past 5 minutes.

Well this is a well overdue review for our neighbours at The Ben Cruachan Inn - Restaurant and Pub with Rooms.

I dont know what to tell you!
It has to be the most enjoyable meal we have had for a long time. The portions were perfectly sized for both adult and child. The food was top quality and i cant even begin to tell you how tasty it all was from starter through to dessert. One of the best meals i have ever eaten and im fussy when it comes to my food. I cannot fault a single thing tonight. Maybe a little to much parfait? Is that a complaint? 🤣

They have a very extensive drinks menu to suit every pallete. Whether its alcohol, soft drinks or hot beverages, its all there.

The staff are amazing. Very attentive, friendly and polite. Lovely manners and a credit to the resteraunt. Everyone around us looked happy and enjoying the surroundings and atmosphere.

Their knowledge of the food and drinks they are serving is top notch.

The atmosphere was just right. The music was loud enough to hear but we were still able to have a conversation. It was cosy and the lighting was just right. Everything about it was 👌 even the price. There was 5 of us. 3 adults & 2 children we had 2 x3 course meals and 3x2 courses and it worked out around £35 a head including drinks. Noone can complain at that.

A huge shoutout to David and Mike who are just fantastic at what they do 👏 from booking to leaving we cannot fault anything. A very enjoyable birthday dinner for Graeme had by all. Im just sorry it took us so long to get there but, we will most certainly be back.

Time to sleep off our very full tummys now though. Thankyou to all the team over the road 😀

Tonights wee drive for dinner review is brought to you from The Tyndrum Inn

This is a bit of a lengthy drive of around 30 minutes to the beautiful village of Tyndrum. Theres a number of eating places here.

The Real Food Cafe Is a lovely chippy that you can eat in and Take away. The food is beautiful here and our go to after a long drive home from down south.

BenLui Restaurant we are still to try out but we know others have been and love it there.

But. tonights dinner was really good theres a fab choice on the menu. Its well priced and the food is amzing and plenty of it. The stafc are lovely and friendly and cant do enough for you.
I would advise booking and there is a £5 pp booking fee when booking. But if youre looking for a scenic drive and a warm welcome with good food this is a good place to start.

The starters in the pics were bigger with 7 pieces of each dish on a serving. My family were hungry though and started before i could grab a picture.

The bill is for 3 adults and 2 children. 2 adults had 3 courses and the rest of us had 2 courses.

We have been doing maintainace the last couple of days. Its hard work trying to keep the 'old gal' chugging along.

A few of our guests have very kindly noted a few improvements needed and we always listen to them.

So, we have fitted a new and improved hot water tank in the kitchen.

We have fitted bat and bird boxes around the grounds for the flying guests to have a safe home.

Theres new planters loaded with baby plants ready to show off this summer and solar lights fitted on the stairs amd decking aswell as along the femce line. Now, it wont be as dark coming home from the Inn.

The holes have been patched and filled and are solid again. ( regular job on an old cart)

We have added more activities inside...dominoes, cards; uno, guess who, chess and many more games. We also have some outsode activities for the wee ones that visit. More to be added soon.

New fire alarms have been installed to keep you safe.

A new first aid kit added in the kitchen.

A lovely window bird feeder has been placed on the lounge window for our hungry feathered friends (theres seed at the main door for them)

Theres a mini fly zapper for the days you go outside to keep the bugs away and a waspinator at the front door to deter the wasps.

The decking has been reinforced undernath ready for the new covering going on next maintainance day.

I think thats all we have been up to this week anyways.
