The biggest wealth transfer from lower income people to billionaires and higher income people is happening right now in the United States. Lower income people not having any assets will pay for this wealth transfer through ‘inflation tax’ and they won’t even know it. Inflation tax is a tax one in a million people understands. This blog demystifies inflation-tax and it’s catastrophic consequences we are about to witness in the coming decade.

From the 29th of August Landlords must provide at least 6 months’ notice period prior to seeking possession through the courts in most cases, except in the most serious of cases, such as incidents of anti-social behavior and domestic abuse perpetrators.

These changes mean that from 29 August, landlords must provide at least 6 months’ notice period prior to seeking possession through the courts in most cases, including section 21 evictions and rent arrears under 6 months.

Notices served on and before 28 August are not affected by these changes, and must be at least 3 months.

The stay on possession proceedings has been extended until 20 September, meaning that in total no tenant can have been legally evicted for 6 months at the height of the pandemic in March 2020.

Landlords must provide at least 6 months’ notice period prior to seeking possession through the courts in most cases.

Ministers have extended the ban on landlords evicting tenants in England and Wales until 20 September, following fears thousands could lose their homes. In most cases, until the end of March, renters will also get six months' notice if their landlord plans to evict them. Before the pandemic, a notice of eviction was usually two months. Courts had been due to resume cases on Monday after a five-month pause.

The ban for England and Wales now runs until 20 September after fears thousands could lose their homes.

Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has announced a two-month extension to the government's ban on evicting renters amid the Covid-19 pandemic. New evictions in England and Wales of tenants in both social and privately-rented accommodation will be suspended until 23 August.

"No-one will be evicted from their home this summer due to coronavirus," Mr Jenrick tweeted.

But housing charity Shelter said the announcement was "only a stop-gap".

Polly Neate, chief executive of Shelter, said: "The government has reset the clock on the evictions ban, buying the families who were only weeks away from losing their homes a vital stay of ex*****on.

But she said: "The ban hasn't stopped people who've lost their jobs during this pandemic from racking up rent arrears. Even if they have a plan to pay them back, these debts will throw struggling renters straight back into the firing line of an automatic eviction as soon as the ban does lift.

No-one will be evicted from their home this summer, Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick says.
