The latest Commercial Rent Moratorium extension to 30 June has finally been announced.

A lifeline for some leisure and retail operators, frustration for landlords. At Newman & Co, we have rent and lease restructuring discussions ongoing and whilst the extended timeframe is welcome in a small number of cases, I think some certainty (if that is at all possible) is really needed. At some point, we have to put trust in the property market to find its own way to balance the interests of both sides and find some equilibrium.
