I headed out for a fully loaded test ride yesterday, and it went well.

It's just over a week to go until I set off. It is getting close now!

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. The support has been excellent.

I am close to my £1,500 target. It would be great to beat last year’s total of £1,828 :)

If you can support, every contribution helps for this worthy cause.

I’m cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats from 29th April 2026, solo and unsupported. It is a challenge I have wanted to try since my twenties and will be my toughest so far.

This year, I am raising funds for Help for Heroes.

Help for Heroes is a British charity that supports members of the Armed Forces community, including veterans, serving personnel, and their families who have suffered injuries or illnesses. Your donation will help provide the specialised support they need for as long as they need it, including physical and mental health services, financial assistance, and social and welfare support, helping them live well after service.

I’m really pleased to have raised £1,828 for the amazing team at Rowans Hospice. They do such vital work caring for patients and their families during life’s most difficult times, and it was a real pleasure to help in any way I could.

A massive thank you to everyone who contributed.

Mission accomplished!

205 miles completed in 14 hours.

It was a fantastic experience and one I will definitely repeat in the future. I had the pleasure of meeting some really lovely people along the way. It was heartwarming to see young families with their children cheering on the cyclists as we passed through the towns and villages.

A big thank you to everyone who has been so generous with their donations — we’ve helped raise £1828+£409 of gift aid to date! I’m sure the hospice will be delighted with your support. All being well, I’ll be attempting Land’s End to John o’ Groats next year. Thank you!

Richard

I met up with Ian and Andrew, who are in the Navy and are also taking part in Chase the Sun. (118 miles)

I’ve raised just over £1,100 for The Rowans Hospice, a local charity that provides vital palliative care for people living with life limiting illnesses in South East Hampshire.

With fewer than four weeks to go until the big day, I’d love to raise even more. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean a great deal to both the hospice and me. If you're able to, please click the link below to donate.

Thank you for your support!

About My Challenge:
On Saturday, 21st June 2025, I will set off at sunrise on a 200+ mile cycle ride from Minster-on-Sea in the Thames Estuary. My route will take me west across the country, passing through London and the Vale of Pewsey, over the Mendip Hills, and down through Cheddar Gorge, before finally reaching the seafront in Weston-super-Mare... hopefully before sunset.

I took part in the Isle of Wight Randonnee on Sunday. I've ridden this route several times and achieved a PB, so must be getting fitter!

I cycled through the North Wessex Downs, just south of Newbury, at the weekend, a fairly hilly route with around 7,800 ft of elevation gain. The weather was lovely, and the scenery was stunning.

So far, I’ve raised just over £1,000 for The Rowans Hospice, which provides palliative care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in South East Hampshire. A huge thank you to my friends, family, and customers who have generously donated so far!

However, I’d love to raise even more, so both the hospice and I would be extremely grateful if you could take a moment to click the link below and make a donation, no matter how small.

Thank you for your support!

I took advantage of the fantastic weather at the weekend and cycled to Stonehenge and back, clocking up another 141 miles in training for my 205 mile fundraising ride in June.
So far, I’ve managed to raise £800 for The Rowans Hospice, which provides palliative care for people living with life-limiting illnesses in South East Hampshire. However, donations have slowed over the past week, so I would be extremely grateful — as would the hospice — if you could take a moment to click the link below and make a donation, however small.
Thank you for your support!
