The lower-ground floor of this south London family home is a place to have a bit more fun with the space. A billiards table and piano create room for hobbies, entertaining and slower evenings at home, while full-height glazing and doors onto the patio keep the space bright and connected to the outdoors during the day. As the light changes, so does the mood, becoming warmer and more intimate in the evening without ever feeling like a traditional basement.

Bespoke joinery brings order and architectural presence, while the Verde Alpi marble fireplace introduces a striking focal point that still sits comfortably within the room’s warm, grounded palette.
