📈 London rental demand is rising again.

Rightmove says tenant demand was 7% higher year-on-year in September, while the number of available rental homes has fallen.

Here in South London, properties are also moving quickly – but that doesn’t mean landlords can simply name their price.

Tenants remain price-conscious, presentation matters and an overpriced property can quickly lose more through a void period than it gains through a higher rent.

Two-thirds of letting agents have no formal property qualification. That might sound alarming… but does a certificate necessarily make somebody a better agent?

Eddie, our own specialist Lettings Manager here at Your Home Managed, has his Level 3 diploma and is a member of ARLA Propertymark.
He is happy to have both things - but his own view is that competence, experience, transparency and keeping up with ever-changing legislation matter far more than simply passing an exam.

Perhaps the bigger priority for the lettings industry isn't making everybody collect another certificate, but properly enforcing the rules we already have.
