AC&MS Ltd are currently looking to employ a full time trainee building surveyor/non licensed asbestos removal operative.
This is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to join a growing but established company.
The company carries out all types of asbestos surveys and non licensed asbestos removal works to all types of building sectors from domestic housing stock to large industrial sites.
The company will provide all necessary in house training and any external training required in regards to the position. The ideal candidate will progress to obtain the relevant qualifications such as the recognised BOHS Proficiency modules P402 “Building Surveys & Bulk Sampling for Asbestos" or "RSPH Level 3 Certificate in Asbestos Surveying", and the NNLW (Notifiable Non Licensed Works) for the removal of ACM's (Asbestos Containing Materials)
Due to the nature of the companies work with asbestos, candidate's would need to be a minimum of 18 years of age for this role. Candidates would also need to hold a clean, full driving licence.
Salary meets national living wage.
The ideal candidate will be provided with a fully equipped company vehicle to carry out all aspects of site works, however the provision of a company vehicle may not be immediately and would depend on the rate of progression.
The position is available with an immediate start or start date of 01/02/2023.
There would be a 6-month probation period, salary reviews will be conducted after completion of probation period and completion and pass of any training courses as detailed above.
Until you are provided with a company vehicle, you will be expected to make your own travel arrangements to and from our office location where you will either work in the office, or be picked up by current staff to work on site.
Travel time to and from site isn’t paid, but the full 8 hours is paid for working on site, even if you are only on site for 5 hours for example.
Travel time is paid for Saturday and Sunday working and salary for Saturday and Sunday working is paid at 1.5 times normal salary.
Overtime rate after 8 hours on site on Monday to Friday is paid pro rata normal salary and can be claimed in segments of fifteen minutes.
The contracted hours would be 40 hours per week.
Salary is paid on last working day of the calendar month for that month, any overtime accrued is paid in arrears at the same time, i.e., overtime done in January is paid in Februarys payroll.
Holiday entitlement would start at 20 days per year, plus the 8 bank holidays per year (Holiday year starts 1st January and ends 31st December) so holiday entitlement would be pro rata as per start date.
Staff must save 3 days for Christmas shutdown each year.
There is no sick pay, however sick pay may be paid but would be at the discretion of senior management.
You would be expected to go out on site as requested as a second operative to assist with asbestos surveys and gain knowledge.

Any external training, face fit tests for RPE, asbestos medical examinations, etc will be paid for by the company, however, should you leave within 1 year of training, face fit tests, asbestos medical, etc the costs would be deducted from final salary. If you leave after 1 year of any costs incurred for training etc there would be no reimbursements of costs incurred requested or taken.
