Celebrate the festive season with Bow Arts; the market will bring craftspeople, artists, and some new faces from the students at the University of East London

Explore a variety of street food provided by , find a uniquely crafted gift for a loved one, or simply walk among the bright, festive lanterns that will light up the docks.

Experience an enchanting winter adventure through the return of storyteller Oliver Wallace of Patchlarks , as he takes you on a journey full of whimsy, magic, and hilarious characters brought to life with his suitcase theatre.

Grab a hot drink from Well Bean Co and listen to the lovely voices of the Stratford East Singers or take a break from the outdoors and seek a delicious spread of contemporary Indian cuisine from neighbourhood restaurant Café Spice Namasté

Whether you’re a resident of the Royal Docks or visiting from afar, there is something for everyone!

We had a de-light-ful time creating winter lanterns last Saturday! 🏮

Thank you to artist Yuliya V Krylova for sharing your skills on how to create lanterns using willow withies and decorative paper.

If you missed out on last week’s free workshop, you can still join us this Saturday in creating a selection of lanterns inspired by the landscape of the Royal Docks.

These beautiful, unique creations will be displayed at the Royal Albert Wharf Winter Market 2025, providing the docklands with a gentle glow.

This workshop is free and open to all experience levels. All materials will be provided, simply drop-in and help create a community lantern!

📅 Saturday 29th November, 1pm-4pm. This is the last workshop in the series.
📍 12 Upper Dock Walk, London, E16 2GU (near the entrance to the concierge).

The Royal Albert Wharf Winter Markety is back!!

Do you have work you would like to sell to the public?
Are you interested in running a stall?

This December, we are offering artists a stall holders fee to run a stall at the Royal Albert Wharf Winter Market.

This is a great way for you to build awareness of your work with the community and beyond, and be a part of bringing arts and culture to the Royal Docks.

Bow Arts chatted with artist Lydia Merrett who specializes in drawing, painting and printmaking. She shares with us the drive behind her work and how she won the studio award which earned her a studio at Royal Albert Wharf.

“My work is rooted in exploring experiences of womanhood and the paintings are always made from my personal experiences and interests. During my MFA I decided to explore my interest outside of art which is women in sport and more specifically long distance running. I am really fascinated by the mental resilience, stamina and determination that is required to be an endurance athlete and I started to draw similarities between the traits needed to take part in these sports and the traits needed to pursue a career as an artist.”

“Being the recipient of the Almacantar Studio Award has enabled me to seamlessly continue developing my practice straight after graduating from the Slade without the trepidation and uncertainty of trying to find an affordable studio. The studio has enabled me to say ‘yes!’ to opportunities of exhibitions and projects which I would have struggled to participate in without the studio with Bow Arts. I am so grateful to the sponsors and prize givers of the Almacantar Studio award. “

Thank you to all of the amazing Bow Arts artists for sharing your studios with the public, for the great map design, and to our brilliant stall holders .stella.lydaki & Nwaego Muima for your lovely creations!

We hope you enjoyed the day, met members of the creative community at Royal Albert Wharf, took part in the stunning Shoalmates Parade, produced by and joined by & for performances. 🐠 🎵

Celebrate the creative community at Royal Albert Wharf!

Saturday 27th April, 10:30am-4pm.

Have you wondered what is inside the 40 artist studios around the Royal Docks Pumping Station? You are invited to meet this thriving community of artists and explore art, ranging from ceramics, photography, footwear, and more.

Join local artist collective Art in the Docks for a springtime parade, Shoalmates, 1pm-3pm. The parade will showcase the beautiful shoals of fish depicting cultural heritage, made by several hundred Newham residents. Plus, children are invited to decorate fish puppets for the parade by booking a spot at their Saturday Morning Kids Club, at a special session on Sat 20th April!

As part of the parade, Taru Arts and Dhol Academy drumming and percussion bands will perform around Royal Albert Wharf.

Visit plant-based café Well Bean Co - Café and contemporary restaurant Café Spice for refreshments, plus Café Spice Namaste are offering a barbeque masterclass from 10:30am-3pm.

This event is family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
