Organised Utility. Organised Mum.

Sometimes a decluttering session might not go as you expect. My client had specific areas of her home she had in mind for her day of organising with me. However, it soon became clear that there were ‘homeless’ items around the house that needed storing together and we agreed the best place was the utility room. So with a quick change of tack, the timer set, we got to work decluttering the space to make way for the new items. She now has all cleaning materials, pet food, diy tools stored away, a great result ☺️

Craft room overhaul.
I worked with a lovely client recently on her sewing room. It had become a cluttered space where deliveries, school bags, coats etc. were left and it was impossible for my client to use this space for her craft work. We worked through each box making decisions on which items to keep, made sure everything we kept had homes. There is now a dedicated space for my client to do what she loves. A good job done.

This beautiful larder cupboard was crammed full with packets and jars, the owner sighed every time she opened the doors. They were struggling for space around the toaster and coffee machine, meaning it was tricky to prepare food and make drinks. After I got rid of all the out of date food, grouped and stored similar items together she's much happier, they have more space, it looks great and everyone knows where to get their breakfast!

It’s been a busy weekend, helped a friend prepare to move, general house stuff and checking everything is in order for school tomorrow. So tonight I shall plonk myself in the sofa with a cuppa and write up a list of everything I want to achieve this coming week and hopefully get through a couple of chapters of my book.

Pub lunch today for the annual meeting of husband and wife to plot, plan and negotiate what we want to do for the year. There's a nice long list building but it's more about having some focus and priorities than necessarily achieving them all.

Got loads of clothes but 'nothing to wear'?

Figure out what clothes you actually wear (and feel great in) with this top tip.

Twist all your clothes hanger hooks the opposite way to how you usually hang them. Every time you wear something twist the hanger back round to its normal position - this will give you an instant visual of what clothes you’re actually wearing.
Once you know what styles, colours, or types of clothes you wear regularly, you can get creative - think of new ways to create an outfit from your remaining items, focus on shopping for things you'll wear, rather than what's in style.
Don't forget to donate your old clothes to your favourite charity shop
And feel good about your new clutter-free wardrobe!
