A fantastic evening at the B&C Awards last week.

It was a pleasure catching up with industry colleagues, making new connections, and celebrating the achievements of so many deserving award winners across the sector. Congratulations to everyone who was recognised on the night.

Transforming a complex opportunity into a fundable development often comes down to structure, timing and clear positioning.

In this case, the objective was to reposition an underperforming coastal hotel into a coastal residential scheme, combining conversion and new-build elements in a location with strong end-market demand.

The challenge was not simply securing finance, but structuring a facility that reflected the project’s risk profile, supported delivery and gave lenders confidence in the overall project.

By aligning the right lender, robust financial planning and a clear development strategy, a £5.8m development finance facility was secured to bring the scheme forward.
