I was born in Hampstead and have lived in North London ever since. I have huge affection for this part of the world and would never live anywhere else. I make a point of sourcing clients and buyers from all over the world, using a rather large black book now of contacts, to give my clients maximum exposure and do not try to sell to purely local buyers who are anchored to their perception of value.

In today's fractured markets, with large corporate agencies backing particular geographic areas and not servicing others, I am here to offer a holistic approach to property giving a high-end service without the restrictions put in place by old fashioned agencies. I focus on the North London corridor from Mayfair to Totteridge but as I am not tied to any location, can provide an international platform to any home in and around London. Acting with integrity, discretion, and transparency is my priority when advising on property and this has led me to being instructed on over £500 million of institutional property in the past for the NHS, Metropolitan police and the UK and Russian governments. I am dedicated to getting the right results and always give real and honest advice with my client’s best interests in mind from the very first meeting. I am a member of the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) and abide by a nationally recognised Code of Practice and take part in the property ombudsman scheme as well as being a member of the Georgian Group and Property mark. I have a passion for architecture and interiors which keeps me excited to see, and be involved in, all types and ages of property. I live close to Muswell Hill with my wife and four young children and in my (very limited) free time, I enjoy my large vinyl record collection and gardening to relax.

Whenever the housing market encounters changes or challenges (like the last 2 months of government) there is a short pause while the buyers seek the confidence to buy. This means sales chains can be weak and the legal work slow. When this happens it’s the agents with experience that know how to keep sales on track and the less experienced agents (or branches with a high turnover of staff) that unfortunatlly let their clients down. This is when you will need to consider changing agents, and it’s not until this point that some people realise they are locked in by a 2 or 3 month notice period in their contract. (I saw one that was 5 months! 😵). I only ask for a weeks notice period and 4 weeks is most common so make sure you read the small print on your contract before signing.

Thinking of selling your detached home in the next year or two? You might want to bring that date forward…

I’m seeing enormous demand for detached houses in Zones 3 and 4 in North London and a spike of interest in lower Hertfordshire from buyers in Central London who, post lockdown, are still in a huge push to better their lifestyle with space, land and the ability for a proper home office. This demand stretches to larger Semi-detached houses with a feeling of space and the possibility of off-street parking.

The official data backs this up. From March 2020 to December 2021, the average price of a detached home has increased 16.6 %! That, compared with 9% for apartments, shows the push towards house purchases and I predict this will continue across 2022.

150million house hunters are expected to hit Rightmove in January. Without doubt the busiest day on the property portals for the whole year is Boxing day !

So some things not to miss if you are thinking of selling your home:

1. You are live on the portals on boxing day with professional photos and floorplans, presenting your property in the best possible light.

2. You have an agent that actually is on Rightmove (example 3 agents in Highgate have decided to come off to save money) and in 2020 Rightmove had 83% of the market share!

3. Your agent is working on the 27th and 28th to take all of the enquires coming in ! (corporate agents will be shut between Christmas and early Jan).
