I was pleased to attend the and LB Lewisham Landlords Forum event.

Competently hosted by Karen Gregory, South London NRLA rep, and Lewisham Council Licensing & Enforcement and Planning Teams.
This event was created to help keep local landlords informed and compliant on housing matters in and the UK in general.

Key takeaways?

- Still some work to do to develop more trust between landlords and local authorities

- There are landlords with a service first mindset who continue to go above and beyond to keep their tenants in a safe and confortable home

- More of these events can only be positive for all concerned

This sobering quote was at the front of my mind while viewing a property in Kent last weekend.

That's what I love about property - the opportunity to apply the "Cinderella effect" and make a lovely home for someone is too good to be missed.

In this case, the seller lived abroad and didn't realise it had fallen into such a state.
He just wanted it sold before the Bank stepped in.
