We have set out a new vision to unlock One Waterloo, creating a vibrant mixed-use destination connecting Waterloo station and the South Bank.
Our retrofit-led proposals for the Elizabeth House site would bring together new hotels, student homes, built-to-rent homes, shops, leisure, workspace and public realm, while supporting new jobs once complete.
At the heart of the masterplan is a more open and connected place. Our plans would open up the site with three new pedestrian routes, a new public square and a more active station frontage linking York Road, The Curve, Leake Street, the South Bank and Waterloo station.
By retaining the existing structure rather than pursuing demolition and new build, the proposals target a 75% reduction in embodied carbon and seek to achieve net zero carbon in construction and operation.
We are now inviting local residents, businesses, neighbours and visitors to help shape the proposals through public consultation.
