Property not selling? How a lease option works.

A lease option is two things: a lease, and an option to buy. The vendor stays the owner and lets the property on agreed terms. The option holder has the right to buy within a set period, at an agreed price or by an agreed method. If they don't exercise it, there is no automatic sale. Rent does not automatically come off the purchase price. That depends on the contract.
