To receive photos of a nearly completed project makes our day, and brings such joy to the team. Coupled with kind words from client (below) we are so happy to have been part of this clients project, taking a ground floor flat that had awkward access to the garden from a dark corridor, to this light living and dining space to enjoy all the light that’s coming in. 👌👌

Facades from a typical fortnight in our calendar…! Late July 2023 took our engineers to Knightsbridge, Orpington, Penge, Putney, Beaconsfield and Beckenham. There’s no typical project for us and we can help on projects of all shapes and sizes. There’s a prize if you can work out which facade is in which of these locations!

We’ve also issued well considered structural design to support other designers we know create some beautiful home extensions. Reducing our carbon footprint is something the SJA team is committed to. Through initiatives such as coordinating our visits by proximity to projects - therefore promoting walking and cycling rather than taking lengthy journeys by car or public transport - we have achieved a 70% reduction in transport costs. We are grateful for the help and guidance of in the conscious development of this initiative and our wider sustainable values. We continue to work towards further green accreditations that provide meaningful impact, not just headlines.

The devil is in the detail. In this case the devil is in the drawing details! This small fix at the end of a project was made possible by team SJA. We were able to help the site team with by designing and drawing a bespoke beam chamfer detail to assist reroofing work over the end of a protruding steel beam. Our help allowed for the roof to be promptly weather proofed before the rain arrives again! The detail has allowed the beam to be lifted up to maximise head height in the rooms below.
