Marc comments on the strong demand for homes on “The Crofts”:

Area names might sound like marketing bumpf, but several agents in the know are in agreement that they can add real value to your property.

Did you know that Regent’s Park was once a royal hunting ground for Henry VIII?

Back in 1539, the area known as Marylebone Park was heavily forested and filled with deer. It formed part of the Crown Estate. During Oliver Cromwell’s rule in the mid-1600s, the land was broken up into small farm holdings and more than 16,000 trees were cut down to make way for agriculture.

When Charles II returned to the throne in 1660, the land was restored to the Crown. It has remained part of the Crown Estate ever since. In the early 19th century, John Nash redesigned the area, transforming it into what is now known as Regent's Park.
