REAL PEOPLE, REAL PROBLEMS
LEGO!
As a professional organiser with over 18 years of experience, I've come across this challenge many times. I am going to refrain from giving my real thoughts about Lego.
PROBLEM:
This client had over 50kg of lego & it had all been mixed together (much to her dissatisfaction), so this meant that all the sets were mixed and impossible to build them or in her case she wanted to sell some & she wanted to keep it neatly packed away out of the main living areas!
MESS GODDESS SOLUTION:
Wow...50 kg of LEGO! But it happens, and it happens a lot when there are a few LEGO enthusiasts in the family.
The simplest and most effective place to start is by sorting everything by colour. It's quick, easy, and makes the whole collection far less overwhelming.
Once everything is organised by colour, you can decide whether it's worth taking it a step further by sorting pieces by size or type. From there, it becomes much easier to find specific parts and eventually sort the LEGO back into individual sets if that's your goal.
Don't try to do it all in one go. Breaking it into stages makes the task much more manageable, and you'll start seeing progress almost immediately.
So now you have a solution.
