And me wondering where my peaceful summer commute disappeared to!

🚨 SELF-MANAGING LANDLORDS — this simple mistake could cost you up to £7,000.

The Renters’ Rights Act has now been in force since 1 May, but there’s one requirement I suspect quite a few landlords may have missed.

If you had an existing written tenancy, in most cases you needed to give every named tenant the Government’s Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet by 31 May.

And here’s the important bit…

Simply sending your tenant a link to it wasn’t enough.

You needed to actually send them the Government PDF as an attachment or provide them with a printed copy.

If you’ve missed it, don’t just ignore it because the deadline has passed. Get your compliance checked now.

And this is just one of a whole raft of changes self-managing landlords now need to understand.
