A very nice collage of photographs centring on the old Waterman's Arms (now the Great Eastern) can be found on youtube. The famous pub once had the critic, writer and broadcaster Daniel Farson as a landlord. Amongst his chubs who came were Princes Margaret, Francis Bacon and Shirley Bassey. The pub also featured in The Long Good Friday. Some of the image show tantalising glancing shots of the old Cumberland Mills factory (with a Dianna look-alike in one shot below!).
