Pinnacle Group recently supported The Hyde Group Official FB Profile in reviving Brighton Open Market with a thorough deep clean, helping to refresh one of the city’s most-loved community spaces.

Brighton Open Market blends independent retail, local food culture and creative enterprise under one historic roof, dating back to the 1920s. The Hyde Group played a key role in the market’s redevelopment in 2014 and remains involved today.

As part of the first phase of improvements, Pinnacle carried out steam-cleaning and treatment works across the market floor, staircases and communal areas, alongside graffiti removal.

Stuart Devine, Operations Director – FM, Pinnacle Group, said: “It’s great to play a part in helping such an important community hub look its best again. Projects like this really show the value of what our teams can deliver for local residents and visitors alike.”

In the coming months, the market will undergo a refresh featuring repainting, new murals and improved signage to help visitors navigate more easily. A final phase will redesign the Market Square, with better seating, a new layout of pop‑up stalls and improved services for visitors.

Recently, in Westminster, a resident contacted our client, Westminster City Council (WCC), to commend Ashton Eglon Braithwaite, Concierge, for his exceptional care and consideration in assisting an elderly lady.

Ashton found an elderly lady with dementia outside a residential building we manage on behalf of WCC, cold and soaked in rain, wearing only a nightdress and a thin coat. Ashton kindly attended to her, persuaded her to come inside to stay warm, and stayed with her. He gave up his seat and remained with her for three hours until an ambulance arrived. The resident wrote: “I’m sure she would have died outside on the street from the cold. We were so lucky Ashton was on duty; he really is sensational.”

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ashton for his outstanding care and consideration in attending to this lady.

This year, the Kirklees housing team launched The Christmas Gift Initiative, with a single aim: to ensure every child on the estate receives at least one present this festive season.

Liam Needham, Housing Contract Manager, said: “Our contract covers 29 sites across Kirklees, including some of the most disadvantaged areas where many children may wake up to no gift on Christmas morning. This year, we wanted to change that and bring the ‘Merry’ back to Christmas with Santa, his sleigh and camels rolling through our neighbourhoods, delivering joy, smiles and presents.”

On 12 December, our dedicated housing team turned Millbridge View into a festive wonderland as the community came together for one of its most memorable Christmas celebrations yet. Families enjoyed an enchanted evening featuring a sleigh, Santa Claus, the Three Wise Men, Joseph and Mary, and a traditional stable scene — bringing the true spirit of Christmas to life.

65 beautifully wrapped presents were handed out to the children of Millbridge tenants. The gifts were wrapped and prepared by residents of Woodland Court, while colleagues, tenants and local contractors donated free hot chocolate and selection boxes. Throughout this week, the Kirklees Housing team will continue visiting all neighbourhoods on their sleigh, ensuring every child receives a Christmas present.

A big thank you to our contractors, British Gas, Key West Pest Control, MDS Group, Tates, AB Building & Electrical Ltd and Wizard Pro Gear for their generous donations and contributions.

We’d also like to thank our colleagues Amana Ali, Abid Riaz, Gary Smith, Luke Weatherill, Brad Lucas, Nick Partridge, Iqra Maria, Helen Regan, John Hanson, Mark Acklam and Liam Needham for their dedication and teamwork in bringing this initiative to life.

At Pinnacle Group, our commitment to the community goes beyond contractual obligations. We’re pleased to share a story from our housing team on the Brockley PFI contract, where we oversee more than 1,800 homes on behalf of Lewisham Council.

Recently, our team stepped beyond their usual duties to help a vulnerable tenant secure a new boiler before Christmas. The contractor had refused to proceed because of the state of the tenant’s kitchen. In response, Yasmin Thomas, Housing Manager; Swarna Ragu, Team Leader; and Paul Mitchell, Contract Manager, rolled up their sleeves and deep cleaned the kitchen space. Their efforts meant the tenant could receive heating and hot water in time for the festive period.

The kitchen, once neglected, is now transformed. It’s a small change with a meaningful impact on daily life, especially during the colder months.

A big thank you and well done to Yasmin, Swarna and Paul for going the extra mile.

If you caught ITV’s This Morning earlier this week, you may have seen our amazing colleagues from Pinnacle Service Families volunteering at Bovington Garrison in Dorset. They joined forces with other volunteers to pack and send gift boxes to children whose parents are deployed over Christmas.

The wider initiative, called “Christmas Smiles,” is run by the Little Troopers Charity (LTC), which supports all military children who have a parent or parents serving in the British Armed Forces, whether regular or reserve.

The initiative was a huge success. Our colleagues, alongside representatives from our partners, VIVO Defence Services, Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), and the LTC, packed 2,000 gift boxes, bringing a little Christmas cheer to the children of those serving our country this festive season. The team also had the chance to meet presenter Colson Smith, well known for his role on Coronation Street.

A big well done to Jac Buchanan, Hayley Hodgkinson, Sandra Mackin, Antoinette Elvie-Butler, Roxy Roberts, June Norris, and John Bond for their hard work and dedication to this worthy cause.

Over the past few days, our colleagues across the Group have proudly taken part in Remembrance Day parades, services, and community events - honouring those who have served and sacrificed.

From Ipswich to Aldershot, Durham to Chivenor, and Coningsby to Tidworth, colleagues laid wreaths, joined parades, supported poppy appeals and helped prepare and decorate memorial spaces. We also enjoyed a Remembrance performance by one of our partner charities, the Military Wives Choirs, at a joint strategy away day with The Hyde Group.

Special thanks to those who volunteered, cleaned, and stood alongside veterans, families, and serving personnel in moments of reflection.

Today, we are delighted to publish our latest ESG impact report highlighting the exceptional service and positive difference we make to every community we serve.

This report not only celebrates our achievements but acts as a marker on our journey to net zero. This represents a substantial challenge, but is one we welcome, and are making significant strides towards.

Paul de K**k, Head of Projects and Governance, Pinnacle Group, said: "While this year presented complex challenges in reducing emissions, we recognise that progress is not always linear. Despite these hurdles, we are proud to celebrate several milestones, including a 100% increase in electric vehicles within our fleet, 48% green energy usage across our offices and depots, and 80% of cleaning chemicals now classified as sustainable products. These achievements reflect our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental footprint and protect our planet."

Pinnacle continues to be a socially conscious and value-led business, this is demonstrated through the exceptional achievements of our people in protecting our planet, the social investments in our team and culture, and the communities we serve.
