Today I had the privilege of substituting for a member and joining the chapter meeting, where every single person in the room introduced themselves and shared what they do.

The Renters’ Rights Act is coming, and it’s closer than you think. 🚨😬

Yesterday I attended a specialist training on the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 with Julie Ford from the NRLA, and the changes landlords need to be aware of are significant.

Here are just a few key dates you need to know:

📅 30th April 2026 (Tomorrow) - Last day to serve a Section 21 notice
📅 1st May 2026 - Section 21 is abolished. Fixed-term tenancies end.
📅 31st May 2026 - Deadline to serve the information sheet to existing tenants (fines up to £40,000 for non-compliance)

And that’s just the beginning.😅
There are major changes to rent increases, bidding wars, deposits, pet rights, possession grounds and much more.

Working with your spouse is not always easy… but it can be incredibly rewarding.

Chris and I have been building our property business together for years through Designed Living Group. And like any partnership, it comes with both advantages and challenges.

The advantage?
We share the same vision. We understand the risks, the goals, and the bigger picture of what we are trying to build.

The challenge?
Sometimes work follows us everywhere. Conversations about refurbishments, numbers, tenants or projects don’t always stop at the office.

We’ve learned that working as a couple requires patience, communication and respecting each other’s strengths. Chris focuses on construction and development, while I focus more on operations, strategy and clients.

It’s not always perfect, but it has allowed us to grow something meaningful together.

At the end of the day, we’re not just building properties — we’re building a business and a life as a team.

Everyone says property deals in the UK are gone. Prices are up. Stamp duty is up.

So… is it really impossible to find opportunities?

Not exactly.

The difference is no longer finding deals — it’s knowing what price works for you as an investor and having the discipline to track opportunities.

Because if a deal doesn’t work today, it might work in two weeks, two months, or with a different strategy.

In property, consistency beats luck.
