A familiar house. An entirely new way of living. At Gregory Phillips Architects, we transform existing homes through thoughtful remodelling, extensions and refurbishment—retaining what makes each property special while reimagining its potential.

Our approach brings architecture, interiors and landscape together, creating generous spaces, opening up views and strengthening connections to the garden.

With decades of experience across London and the UK, we guide each project from the first ideas through planning to completion. Carefully integrated improvements to energy performance and comfort help create homes that work beautifully for years to come.

Six houses. Six different first impressions. These front views reveal the variety of homes we work on.

Our projects include contemporary new houses, period homes and substantial transformations. Each responds to its setting and the people who live there, with the same care for proportion, materials, landscape and detail.

We design remarkable new houses and transform existing homes.

A quiet presence from the street. A growing sense of drama within.

For this new family home in Totteridge, North London, we replaced an outdated 1970s house with contemporary architecture shaped by its gently sloping site.

Set into the landscape, the house reveals itself as you enter. Tiered planting gives the main living room a south-facing aspect while screening views of the road and driveway. Mature trees soften the entrance and provide seasonal shade.

Long-format natural brick and dark-stained timber bring warmth and texture to the precise geometry, while carefully angled brickwork catches the changing light.

Architecture and landscape designed together, for family life.

Architecture, interiors and landscape, designed as one. At Gregory Phillips Architects, we bring every element together around the way you want to live. Space to swim, entertain, spend time with family or simply enjoy a quiet moment in the garden.

Beautiful homes. A better everyday life.

The way we design our homes can make a real difference to how we live and feel.

Natural light, fresh air and a close connection to the garden. Space to relax, enjoy meals and bring family and friends together.

We design homes around these everyday pleasures, creating places that encourage healthy living and a sense of wellbeing.

The best transformations are about much more than adding space.

We look at the whole house: how it flows, how natural light moves through it, how the interiors work and how the architecture connects with the garden.

With more than 30 years’ experience designing and transforming exceptional homes, we help clients unlock the potential of their property, from the first ideas and planning through to the completed house.

Transforming an existing house is about much more than adding space.

Here, a new contemporary extension completely changed the relationship between the house, its interior and the garden, while retaining the character of the original building.

Good architecture can reveal potential that isn’t immediately obvious. Improving light, flow, proportion and the way a house is lived in.

Gregory Phillips Architects designs award-winning transformations of houses in London and the Home Counties.
