They’re off! 🚴‍♀️

We have just waved of our cyclists on our second annual St Swithin’s Cycle Ride. The guys and girls have two route options, 40 or 60 miles through some beautiful countryside.

Why St Swithin’s?
St Swithin’s day is always the 15th of July and the story goes if on that day, it rains or shines, then the weather for the following 40 days is dictated by this day - 😎☀.

Here at Anstey Horne it has another significance, as it was the birthday of one of our founders, the late John Anstey and so on everyone's safe return, we shall be raising a glass.

The event also signifies a shift in how we network - recognising that business is built on relationships and relationships are formed with shared interests, we hope our event will help cement further friendships within the group.

A shout out has to go to one of these, Atomik Architecture; our hosts for this year - a great team of architects who are also believers of building relationships that last beyond the life of a single building.

We must also say a special thank you to Kinna Stallard, who has prepared the culinary delights for the day and no doubt spent a couple of hours creating the bunting!

Wishing all our riders a safe and sunny trip, we look forward to welcoming them back for a well-deserved drink and BBQ.

Welcome Back Holly 😊

We are delighted to welcome back Holly Harris, she returns as a Director within our Party Wall Team. Holly has extensive experience across the commercial and residential sectors and will be dealing with party wall matters for both Building Owner and Adjoining Owner projects. It is great for both Holly and the team to have her back, feels like she never left!

As a business, we strive to create a culture whereby people don’t want to leave us, but when they do – what a great testament it is, when they want to come back – shows we must be doing something right.

RCIS Matrics Awards - ✨🏆✨

We would like to congratulate our colleague Tony Leishman MRICS MIFireE C.Build.E MCABE MIFSM for being nominated for the Building Control Surveyor of the Year at the RCIS Matrics Awards this year.

Tony is one of just five Surveyors to be nominated in this category, which is a fantastic achievement.

We look forward to November when the Awards ceremony takes place to see if he becomes a winner.

Navigating Glint and Glare: The Aviation Challenge of Solar PV Farms ☀️✈️

A big thank you to DHA Planning Group for hosting Matt Grant and Dan Fitzpatrick at the their London office yesterday for a session on daylight & sunlight, solar energy potential and rights of light.

Part of the talk focused on our newly developed tools to assess glint and glare from solar PV farms. For aviation, managing this risk is crucial to ensure safe navigation to landing zones.

To mitigate these challenges, careful planning and placement of solar PV across the farms are essential. Factors such as the orientation of the panels and their tilt angle must be considered alongside their proximity to flight paths.

Anstey Horne work closely with land owners, their planning consultants and the relevant aviation authorities to manage the risks and maximise power output.

London Marathon for Demelza

Our colleagues Jessica Watson & Padraic Lucas are currently in their final training preparations to take part in this year’s London Marathon this coming weekend. As part of this they have decided to pick Demelza Charity as their chosen charity for which they are wishing to raise funds for.

Background Story
Demelza delivers extraordinary care to extraordinary children who are facing serious or life-limiting conditions, throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex. Were here for them and their families with expert clinical, emotional and practical support at every step from first diagnosis and for as long as were needed.

When they need us most, we’ll be there; to reassure, to guide and to care. By their side when they feel isolated, helping to create joy in family life during challenging times and making precious memories.

Demelza believes in care that doesn't back down.

Anstey Horne Charity Football Match - ⚽

On the 28th March 2024, our colleagues Hunt, Watson & Lucas hosted a thrilling charity football match with , Logistics Services and & Co. at Corams Field Pitches.

The match aimed to raise funds for & and to help support Gregor, Jess & Padraic on their London Marathon 2024 journeys. Well done to Team Fado/Tarn & Co/Construction Logistics Services, who took home the trophy for their well-deserved win on penalties! 🎉

Anstey Horne would like to say a HUGE thank you to Fado, Construction Logistics Services and Tarn & Co. on their support. It was an amazing night followed by some drinks and nibbles after!
