Understanding Critical Property Maintenance:
🚨 Is Your Hot Water System a High-Pressure Bomb? 🚨
When installed correctly, an unvented cylinder is the gold standard for delivering efficient, high-pressure hot water. It provides superior performance, especially in modern homes with higher demands.
But here’s the truth:
An unvented cylinder operates under significant pressure. If safety components like the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) or expansion vessel fail, it can quickly become dangerous – even catastrophic.
Water in a pressurised system doesn’t boil at 100°C. At 3 bar, it can reach 134°C before turning to steam. Without proper safeguards, that’s a high-pressure bomb waiting to go off.
This is why correct installation, regular maintenance, and servicing by a qualified professional are non-negotiable.
As professionals, it’s our responsibility to ensure these systems are safe, compliant, and efficient – because cutting corners isn’t worth the risk.
When was the last time you serviced or checked your unvented system?
