We have had a fascinating two months so far in the UK, travelling over 8000 miles as we explore the differences between our familiar hunting grounds in the south and the aestivum and uncinatum growing regions up here in the north of Europe. We have learned a great deal but just as importantly have had the great fortune to meet some very lovely, kind people and amazing dogs. Until the white truffle season starts, we will be based in the south of England. Get in touch if you would like to connect! Thank you all for the ride!!

For me there are two distinct types of hunting, exploring when we are looking for potential truffle woodlands and collecting when we are in a known truffle location and the dogs are unearthing the truffles that grow there. For the dogs these are two very separate tasks and the novice dog may quickly get bored with exploring. All that sniffing and not finding anything.
