As you can you see this was in a really bad state. Without spending crazy money on replacing everything I decided to strip back all the loose/damp ply and then apply a wet rot wood hardener. We had to pack it out with powdered filler to create a new base and then fine skim for top coat. We primed with an oil based stain block and then applied 2 coats of zinsser all coat. This wasn’t easy. A lot of preparation and it’s been a struggle in this heat.
It’s not perfect but it’s been repaired and now awaiting a nice PVC trim around the bottle to make it look extra clean.
