📢 Big Changes for Renters and Landlords Coming 1 May

The first wave of the Renters’ Rights Act begins on 1 May, bringing some major reforms to the rental sector.

Key changes include the end of Section 21 ‘no-fault’ evictions, new limits on rent in advance, and a ban on landlords raising rent more than once a year, running bidding wars, or discriminating against tenants who receive benefits or have children.

These rules come with tougher enforcement too — local councils will be able to issue fines ranging from £7,000 to £40,000 for breaches.
