Excellent news for Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Club and the local community! 🏉

JMS Planning & Development Ltd is delighted to share that at the recent Development Management Committee meeting, members unanimously supported the proposal for a new indoor training centre at Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Club - the first of its kind in Ceredigion.

This exciting project will deliver a state of the art indoor training facility with more than 2,500m² of internal floor space, including:

✔️ A full-width indoor training pitch
✔️ A dedicated viewing gallery
✔️ Gym and strength & conditioning space
✔️ Modern changing facilities
✔️ Media and analysis room

This development will create an all-weather environment that supports player development, improves training opportunities for all age groups, and strengthens the club's long-term future within the community.

We are proud to have supported this proposal and to see such strong backing from club, community and committee members. It’s another great example of how high-quality planning and collaboration can help deliver meaningful facilities that make a real difference.

We look forward to seeing this project progress and supporting more initiatives that invest in sport, health, and local communities.

📢 Final Reminder 📢

The Kings Lynn and West Norfolk Call for Sites is due to close on 31 March 2026. Any landowners or developers with land suitable for future residential or commercial uses have the opportunity to submit potential development sites to the Council for consideration as part of the forthcoming Local Plan review.

JMS Planning currently has a number of projects ongoing within Kings Lynn and West Norfolk, as well as promoting sites through Local Plans nationwide. Neve, Eva and Abbie joined the Cratus Group and LPDF International Women’s Day breakfast this morning, where new survey findings and a thoughtful panel discussion highlighted both progress and the barriers that continue to shape women’s experiences across the built environment.

Grateful to the speakers for sharing their experience and to the organisers for bringing the sector together for such an important conversation.

Several councils across the UK have opened new Call for Sites consultations as part of their emerging Local Plans. It’s a good moment in the planning process to put land forward and help shape how future growth is planned.

If you’re a landowner, developer, or promoter with sites in these areas, this is a great time to publicise their potential. LPAs are currently inviting a wide range of opportunities, including:

- Residential
- Employment
- Mixed use.

JMS Planning & Development Ltd are pleased to continue our work on delivering high-quality affordable housing schemes and are delighted to confirm the successful completion of the Pre-Application Consultation for the proposed 38 affordable dwellings at Land adjacent to Johnstown Leisure Centre, Carmarthen.

We look forward to continuing our work with Carmarthenshire County Council as we progress the scheme towards a full planning application.

A great day out in Bath 🏛️

Our team enjoyed a lovely day trip exploring Bath’s historic streets and sharing good food together. A chance to connect outside the office and appreciate the city’s charm!

We’re pleased to share a recent success at appeal from PINS!

The appeal relates to the demolition of an existing first floor and the er****on of new first and second floors, alongside a new shopfront, for a site in Tower Hamlets.

Before the application was submitted, the Appellant sought pre-application advice for a very similar scheme, which received positive feedback from the LPA. Despite the full planning application closely reflecting that advice, the LPA went on to refuse it. Their main concerns centred on the potential impact on the existing building and the Hackney Road Conservation Area.

However, the Inspector agreed with our case. As stated in Paragraph 18 of the Appeal Decision:

“I am of the view that the proposal comprises the next chapter in the history of the use of the building, whilst preserving its key positive contribution to the CA as a whole. My view is reinforced by the findings of the Heritage Statement which concluded that the proposed development will not cause any adverse impacts on the CA. I am satisfied that the proposals represent a sympathetic approach to the redevelopment of the site appropriate in the local urban context.”

🌟 Exciting Day in Paris! 🌟

This Wednesday, we had our away day in Paris. We dove into the world of French culture with a visit to a cheese museum 🧀, followed by a cruise along the Seine River 🚤. We wrapped up the day with a lovely dinner, enjoying delicious Parisian cuisine 🍽️.

At JMS Planning, we believe in investing in our team culture and rewarding the hard work and dedication that goes into supporting our clients and delivering planning permissions.
