Maintenance Quick Tip about condensation and mould.

If your washing machine is not working properly and water is not draining and the door does not open it is most likely that there is a blockage in your waste pipe which is stopping the machine draining the water.

The way to resolve the problem is to move the machine out and take a bucket or bowl, remove the waste pipe from the washing machine into the bowl and the blockage should pass and then simply reconnect the waste pipe and push back the machine.

Maintenance Quick Tips

One of the most common problems is condensation which is caused by the lack of ventilation. If windows are double glazed check and see if there are trickle vents and if they are open. Trickle vents help the building to breathe and are essential to avoid condensation and will help with comfort levels in the property. If you don't have trickle vents, check to see if there are any air vents in the room and make sure they are not covered or closed. If you dont have any air vents either speak to your agent or landlord and suggest installing them as this might be a good way of resolving the issue. It will also ensure the property does not need constant re-decorating and mean the tenant will not be calling and complaining about mould; creating a comfortable environment for your tenant who will be happy and more likely to renew their tenancy.
