If you receive Housing Benefit or the Universal Credit Housing Element, you could be eligible for a Discretionary Housing Payment if you’re struggling with your housing costs.
A Discretionary Housing Payment can be made if you’re finding it hard to pay your rent, at risk of losing your home due to rent arrears or for one-off costs such as rent deposit, rent in advance or removal costs to help you move into a more affordable home.
Last year, the Anglia Revenues Partnership helped over 1,200 people who were struggling with housing costs and in total, they received more than £1 million through the scheme.
