Apex Architecture Ltd

Apex Architecture Ltd Apex Architecture is a team of Chartered Architectural Technologists, Surveyors & Architects. Richard, Charlie and Jon all grew up in the Forest of Dean.

We’re a team of architectural technologists, technicians and surveyors, led by Richard Jones, Charlie Vine and Jon White. They first met when they were studying together at college and have been friends ever since. Over the years their career paths crossed until they found themselves working with each other, helping to set up a new architectural practice. By 2019, they had each gained chartered st

atus and were directors of the company. From here it was a natural progression to work together in their own practice, Apex Architecture Limited. Richard, Charlie and Jon are joint owners of the business and are all active in it, leading projects and working directly with clients. Because they live locally, you’ll benefit from both their professional expertise and their deep-rooted appreciation of this beautiful part of the world.

Our client came to us to help explore the residential potential of land adjoining their existing business premises.

The site had been used as a builder’s yard for many years but was largely unused. Apex developed a scheme for nine new homes that would sit comfortably within the surrounding residential area, while still allowing the client to retain part of the site for their ongoing business use.

We managed the process from early feasibility through to planning approval, coordinating ecology and survey work, and preparing a clear planning strategy. Full consent was granted, and the client is now considering the next steps for the site.

A good example of how thoughtful design and planning can unlock value from underused land.

Project Spotlight: Home Remodelling, Monmouthshire:

Our client came to us for help rethinking a rural family home that had been extended several times over the years and no longer functioned as well as it could.

We began with a full measured survey and explored a series of design options with the clients. The agreed scheme kept the existing footprint but improved the internal flow, increased natural light and gave the home a stronger, more balanced appearance from the road.

The planning officer described the proposal as “a significant enhancement to the dwelling”, and permission was granted within nine weeks. Construction is now complete.

A great example of how thoughtful design can make a huge difference to how a home looks, feels and functions, without the need for major expansion.

Exciting progress on our site in Gloucestershire!

The steel frame for our contemporary replacement dwelling has now been erected, marking a major milestone in the project. This modern home takes the place of a tired 1960s bungalow, and we can’t wait to see it evolve over the coming months.
A huge thank you to Lark Cooper Structural Engineers for their expertise and to AJ Lowther & Son for supplying and installing the steel frame.
Stay tuned for more updates as the build takes shape!
