Home to just 700 people, Mallaig was the only destination in Europe to make the global list, while famous remote spots across Scandinavia and the Alps didn’t even feature. 🏴
Sitting right at the end of the A830 on Scotland’s wild west coast, the village is surrounded by some seriously impressive gems:
* The Caribbean-like Silver Sands of Morar
* Loch Morar, Britain’s deepest body of freshwater
* One of the most scenic football pitches in the entire UK, overlooking the Sound of Sleat and Skye
* The terminus of the real-life Hogwarts Express route
* Red deer, golden eagles, otters, seals, dolphins and even whales
