More images of our completed house in Northumberland.

A glazed corridor separates the living spaces from main bedroom. The sliding glass allows the entrance, corridor and kitchen to open to the terrace and garden beyond.

A single piece of art by creates impact from inside and outside the house.

Meet Dave.

He’s been through thick and thin with his house build over the last decade; a young pup at conceptual design stage, now a senior citizen on completion.

Still, entirely worth it to claim his corner window spot and optimal barking position. He even stipulated the polished concrete finish should match his coat. Bit vain, but the client is always right.

En-suite to Newcastle house.

A minimal material palette, hidden storage and lack of shower screen creates a simple space. Naturally lit from above coupled with a slot window for a garden glimpse.

Serene showering.

We’re delighted to win at last night’s MSA awards.

Our new-build house in Lymm won in the ‘Private House Un-built’ category, judged by Glen Howells.

A great night on what was the MSA’s 160th awards - well done to all and Jenny Etheridge.

And thanks to our client who’ve been open and receptive throughout the design process - we’re excited to start the building on site later this year.

Existing and proposed images of a remodel project in Alderley Edge.

To create a sense of openness and visual permeability, large openings are cut into the existing barn. These large glazed sections create a contemporary feel whilst not losing the essence of the old building.

Planning application submitted for extensive remodel, extension, conversion and new-builds in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

Our client bought the property which had suffered from ad-hoc extensions and poor design decisions.

The proposals remove the extensions and replace with a modern extension, accommodating main living spaces on the ground floor and master bedroom suite on the first floor.

The garden was hemmed in by walls and buildings and felt claustrophobic - there were no distant views. So by opening the rear elevation of the original house, both new and old elements benefit from light, views and garden connection.

The proposals also include conversion of the barns into living accommodation, a new-build swimming pool and 12-car garage.

On behalf of our private client, we’re excited to gain planning consent in Lymm.

Approved at committee, the new-build replaces a run-down seventies house and will be a family home.

The site is tight so there was little scope to increase the footprint as we needed to keep a proportionate garden and drive.

Despite the constraints, we managed to double the internal area of the original house to 3,500sqft. This was achieved by using the space beneath the garden as gym / wellness, and also by having a large main bedroom suite within the roof volume.

We’re progressing with technical design and will start on site later this year.

Planning permission granted in Churton Conservation Area.

A series of ill-considered extensions connected the house to the adjacent coach house.

We removed these and replaced with a simple lightweight extension, separated from the rear elevation with a glass link. This provides the family a much-need kitchen / living space which makes the most of the secluded garden.
