Our Chief Executive Michael Guy and some of our trustees welcomed The Architectural Heritage Fund to Baguley Hall recently.

The Fund has awarded £79,000 to Heritage Trust North West to be used to appoint a specialist professional team to lead the next phase of the Baguley Hall project.

Michael Guy, Chief Executive of HTNW, said: “We are delighted to receive this funding, which enables us to assemble a dedicated project team for this exciting restoration.

“It brings vital expertise to complement our in-house skills and allows us to begin developing proposals that will mark a new chapter for Baguley Hall.”

Matthew McKeague, Chief Executive of the Architectural Heritage Fund, added: “Baguley Hall is a unique and rare survivor with a rich and fascinating history. We are pleased to support Heritage Trust North West in bringing this important building back into use and creating a new purpose for the local community.”

Heritage Trust North West (NTNW) has secured a funding boost as it begins work to restore Baguley Hall.

We took ownership of Grade I listed property at the end of 2025 with a mission to bring it back to life.

Now, thanks to a £79k grant from The Architectural Heritage Fund HTNW is able to appoint the professional team to lead on the project. More details on this coming soon!

The medieval manor house dates to late 13th Century and is one of Manchester’s oldest buildings. But it has been boarded-up for almost six decades and in recent years threatened with demolition.

In November Historic England selected HTNW to take on ownership of Baguley Hall entering a new era for this gem of south Manchester.

Great night at Hall Lane Resource Centre next door to Baguley Hall.

We introduced Heritage Trust North West to the community and discussed our initial plans for the fabulous Baguley Hall.
